In 1963, in 1963, the Company was founded by Dr. Alvin Roth. Dr. Roth had been a practicing dentist before discovering that his interest in developing dental plastic products led him to create this unique, patent-pending, technology that is currently utilized in the production of all of Quadrant’s advanced engineering plastic components. One of Roth’s many inventions is The discovery of a simple method to increase the length of the material used in many of our parts; he was the first person to use the actual ingredient in nylon, he was responsible for the creation of the composition of nylon powder as well as the process used to make it; and he was the sole designer of the nylon sandwich. Continue reading to learn more about these and other important achievements.
Nylon Stock Shapes – Roth invented the nylon stock shape. With the aid of nitrogen-filled molding technology, he realized that the shapes of his nylon stock were nearly impossible to break. Roth initially designed the stock shapes to save space. Stock shapes are now available for a variety of our most sought-after products, including bumpers, knobs, and slides. They are strong and practically indestructible. The stock shapes made of nylon are simple to work with, and can be manufactured in large quantities using standard CNC machines. These stock shapes and many other innovative nylon plastic parts are the reason our equipment is sturdy long-lasting, reliable, and long-lasting.
PVC (Polyvinyl chloride), and STP (styrene), Composites – These two groundbreaking engineering plastic products were invented by Roth. They opened the way for other types polymer composites. They are now utilized for high-tech accessories as well as industrial batteries as well as numerous other applications. Together, PVC and STP composites make lightweight, durable and robust industrial components that make it possible to produce a wide range of products.
UV Sensitive Materials – The next world leader in high-performance engineering plastics, Ultraviolet Silicone, was created by Roth. It has revolutionized the global supply chain by offering high resistance to UV light, specifically ultraviolet B radiations. Ultraviolet Silicone is ideal for outdoor signs and bumpers that have been damaged by the sun. It can also be used in thermal insulation materials and engine lubricants. The versatile material can be used in a variety of applications that include air bags, solar signs and high-performance engineering materials.
Flexible Plastic Materials – Another one of the few engineering plastics that have been a leader in the global supply chain. Because it offers a wider array of uses in different industries, this product stood out from other options. The durability and versatility of this product make it an ideal option for a variety of applications. UHP and ULP materials can be used in a variety of different applications, such as bumpers, shock-absorbing liners as well in mechanical parts as well as high-performance engineering plastics.
Colloidal Polymer – Another emerging leader in the global supply chain for engineering plastics. Colloidal Polymer was introduced by Roth in 1998. With its unique, all-natural appearance the Colloidal Polymer is flexible, durable and safe. It is a long-lasting cure and is available in a variety of particles including PMMA and polyimide. The material is also resistant to ultraviolet light and is highly resistant to wear and tear. The material is suitable in a wide variety of applications, like in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, detergents, and food.
Nylon Fiber – Nylon Fiber is the fourth most popular fiber in the world. It has durability and strength, as well as low maintenance. Nylon Fiber is a blend of an extremely high modulus of tensile strength and lower compressive strength as well as Tensile strength. It is commonly used for automotive, aerospace, industrial as well as household applications. Nylon Fiber has a major advantage: it is more robust to creep, meaning that it can last longer. It has excellent chemical and thermal properties, which make it a preferred choice for various industries. Nylon is the fastest growing fiber, but it has the lowest compressive strength rating.
