It can be difficult keeping just one blog up to date, but some bloggers maintain multiple blogs at a time. Some bloggers try to manage multiple blogs, but it ends up making all of the blogs unsuccessful. Quality matters when it comes to blogs and if quality is compromised to keep up with the quantity needed, it doesn’t always work.

If you have a niche blog that provides useful information you can attract targeted traffic from the search engines. With this traffic you find people that are searching for the solution to a problem and, since they are actively looking for information on your topic, they will be more likely to click through to an advertisers site. Let the advertiser try to further monetize the traffic by selling a product or service. You simply act as a middle man between the search engine and advertiser and provide the client with traffic.

Another difference between websites and Read my story is the ability to communicate with the visitor. blogs by definition provide space for comments and back and forth communications on the posts or web pages. Websites, on the other hand; traditionally don’t have this. Some websites now have the flexibility to provide places for comments so this is not such a major difference between the two platforms any more.

The term weblog was invented by Jorn Barger in 1997, but it was shortened to Blog by Peter Merholz in 1999. The word blog may have actually been a typo. Peter used the phrase ‘we blog’ in the sidebar of his weblog. online blogs started popping up more often on the Internet in 1999, and in March of 2003, the Oxford English Dictionary added the words weblog, weblogging, and weblogger to the dictionary.

Optimize your blog post. Every blog post has to be about one and only one (sub)topic. In that post you should target only one keyword and repeat that keyword several times in the body. You can sprinkle a secondary keyword throughout the text as well, but focus on your primary one. Also that keyword should definitely be in the title of your post. And if you use headers, put it in there too.

Some people keep multiple blogs for multiple reasons, or to promote multiple products. In this way, marketers are able to leverage their opportunity to create buzz.

I still hate blogging. But life is not full of doing only those things we like. Use your blog if you are serious about promoting your business. And use your blog if you want to promote yourself. Don’t expect a million hits a minute but don’t be surprised if your blog turns out to be a positive addition to your web presence. I certainly was and continue to be amazed at the results.
